Seed Saving - 11/4/04

Saving seed can be an integral part of every commercial farm no matter what the scale. Using your own seed and selling excess seed are economically viable alternatives to purchasing commercially produced seed not adapted to your region.

This workshop, conducted by Susanne Ashworth, of Del Rio Botanicals and the author of "Seed to Seed," demonstrated how to save seed from 20 vegetable species including gourds, squash, corn, tomatoes, onions, beets, chard, lettuce, and melons.
