Congratulations to the members of the Petaluma Future Farmers of America for winning the national Dairy Cattle Evaluation Career Development Event in Indianapolis. The group will represent the United States in an international competition at the Royal Highland Livestock show in Ediburgh, Scotland in June 2013. For those of you who missed the photographic exhibit of Marin's Agrarian Roots through the lens of Marin's first Farm Advisor M.B. Boissevain's insightful photographs that premiered at the 2012 Marin County Fair, the exhibit will be back at the Civic Center from December 10th - April 26th.
Also, don’t miss out on the next historical tour of Marin’s Agrarian Roots, 1920’s-1940’s: As Reflected in the Photographs of M.B. Boissevain. On Thursday February 21st, from 12 pm to 1 pm in room 330 at the Marin Civic Center, Marin County historian Dewey Livingston & David Lewis, Director U.C. Cooperative Extension in Marin, will speak about Marret Burridge Boissevain, Marin’s first U.C. Farm Advisor. The presentation will be followed by a book signing.
