  • The Agricultural Institute of Marin has received additional Market Match incentives and will likely be able to offer Market Match to EBT users throughout the winter season at all 7 of their Bay Area farmers markets, including the two at the Marin Civic Center on Thursdays and Sundays open from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. The incentive program offers shoppers double value when they use EBT/Food Stamps at AIM’s Farmers Markets.

  • The Sonoma County Harvest Fair recognized Dr. Stephanie Larson for her years of leadership, guidance and support in agritourism and training of agropreneurs as this the 2015 Friend of Sonoma County Agriculture. The Harvest Fair and members of the local food and beverage community will celebrate Larson, along with her fellow Harvest Fair award recipients, during a ceremony and dinner that was held on September 27 at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. 
  • Dr. Whendee Silver, UC Berkeley Professor of Biogeochemistry, has been named UC Berkeley’s first Faculty Climate Action Champion for her leadership and contributions to the Marin Carbon Project.

  • New studies outlining the cost of production and estimated revenue for orchard and field crops have been released by the University of California's Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  The study for organic strawberries takes into consideration growing conditions on the Central Coast of California  for the fresh packaging market, and complying with the National Organic Program.
