PRESENTED BY BIONEERS AND THE MARIN CARBON PROJECT

“Climate change, quite simply, cannot be halted without fixing agriculture.” – MICHAEL POLLAN

CAPTURING AND STORING CARBON IN THE SOIL — CARBON SEQUESTRATION — is among the most practical and promising ways to mitigate climate disruption on a large scale. Carbon farming also has multiple agricultural benefits: protecting against drought and flooding, enhancing fertility, and boosting production.

DISCOVER FIRSTHAND HOW CARBON FARMING PRACTICES WORK and their enormous potential. The workshop will lay out the science of carbon sequestration and how carbon farming can be an organizing principle for regional economy, local food systems and regional climate plans. Best practices for carbon ranching and farming systems will be shared by innovative farmers. And we will discuss how intensive (carbon depleting, and carbon emitting) agriculture impacts environmental justice in rural communities.

A HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY WILL BE AN EXTENSIVE TOUR OF STEMPLE CREEK RANCH.

Price: $195 (includes a locally grown and raised organic lunch)
